Recent data from Lands of America records $1 billion in land for sale for sale in the Gem State. This represents a total of 337,155 acres of land for sale in the state. Of the 44 counties in Idaho, Bonner County had the most land and farms for sale. The most expensive land listed for sale in Idaho on Lands of America recently was $62 million, while the median price for land and other rural acreage for sale in Idaho came in at $810,660. The average price of land and rural real estate for sale in Idaho was $1 million. Idahoans take full advantage of their natural resources, with over half of the state's residents having fished and some 35 percent having hunted within a two-year span. All told, hunting, fishing, and trapping activities generate over $1 billion for the Idaho economy. And it's not just the local who are in on the secret. In its entirety, 82,643 square miles (99 percent) is made up of land, while the remaining 926 square miles comprises water.
