Recent internal data shows $950 million in farms, ranches and other land for sale for sale in Idaho. This represents 297,366 acres of land for sale in Idaho. Of Idaho's 44 counties, Kootenai County had the most land and rural real estate for sale. The most expensive piece of land listed for sale in Idaho on Lands of America recently was $62 million, though the median price for land and ranches for sale in Idaho was $672,328. The average price of land for sale in Idaho was $1 million. There was 40 acres of sold land in Idaho recorded last month through the Lands of America sales program. This reflects a decrease in sales activity over July 2018 data. The total value of this sold land and rural real estate was $649,900. Kootenai County recorded the most land sales recently in the state. Idahoans take full advantage of their natural resources, with over half of the state's residents having fished and some 35 percent having hunted within a two-year span. All told, hunting, fishing, and trapping activities generate over $1 billion for the Idaho economy. And it's not just the local who are in on the secret. Visitors flock to the state for world-class skiing, backpacking and whitewater rafting, among other outdoor adventures. As befits a state with excellent hunting for big and small game like deer, waterfowl and wild turkey, hunting land was the most common type of land for sale in Idaho. WalletHub, a personal finance website, has ranked the state among the ten best states for retirees based on factors including affordability, quality of life and health care. The state has also been ranked among the ten best states for the cost of living by U.S. News & World Report. In terms of its size, Idaho is the country's 14th-largest state, covering an area of 83,574 square miles (53 million acres). Of this area, 82,643 square miles (99 percent) of the state is land, while the remaining 926 square miles comprises water.
