Lands of America data lists appromixately $5 billion in farms, ranches and other land for sale in the Gem State, which comprises appromixately 421,000 acres of land for sale in Idaho. Of the 44 counties in Idaho, Kootenai County had the most land and rural real estate for sale. There were 622 acres of sold land in Idaho recorded last month through the Lands of America sales program. This reflects a decrease in sales activity over data from the previous month. The total value of this sold land and rural real estate was $3 million. Idaho County recorded the most land sales recently in the state. Idahoans take full advantage of their natural resources, with over half of the state's residents having fished and some 35 percent having hunted within a two-year span. All told, hunting, fishing, and trapping activities generate over $1 billion for the Idaho economy. And itâ€™s not just the locals who are in on the secret. Visitors flock to the state for world-class skiing, backpacking, and whitewater rafting, among other outdoor adventures. WalletHub, a personal finance website, has ranked the state among the ten best states for retirees based on factors including affordability, quality of life and health care. The state has also been ranked among the ten best states for the cost of living by U.S. News & World Report. In terms of size, Idaho is the country's 14th-largest state, covering an area of 83,574 square miles (53 million acres). Of its total landmass, 82,643 square miles is land, while the remaining 926 square miles comprises water. Wildlife to be found on land for sale in Idaho include elk, mule deer, whitetail deer, bear, quail, turkey, moose, and ducks. Fishermen have their choice of trout, bass, salmon, walleye, catfish, and pike.
